2.2. Match Balls in GMCL

2.2.1. Mandatory Match Balls (enquiries to CricketDirector@GtrMcrCricket.co.uk)

2.2.1.1. Clubs must use GMCL approved match balls in all GMCL matches

2.2.1.1.1. GMCL requires all teams to purchase league stamped balls from our partner ball supplier.

2.2.1.1.2. Clubs joining the league may use up to 6 new balls from their former league where those are stamped balls and they must be used in their first 6 matches at 2nd XI level. The Board will notify the Umpires panel if any clubs will be using their previous league balls.

2.2.1.2. Mandatory Match Ball Standard by Division or Cup (updated 2025)

In order to maintain standards, any used ball supplied at the start of the innings (to start or as a spare) must be in a good enough condition that the embossed badges must show that the ball is a GMCL ball of the required standard. If not, the used ball cannot be used to start or as a spare.  

2.2.1.2.1. Saturday Divisions in the Premier Divisions and the Championship Divisions (down to and including Division 3)

2.2.1.2.1.1. Match to commence with NEW Windsor Ball

2.2.1.2.1.2. Spare Ball must be a Used Windsor Ball

2.2.1.2.2. Saturday Divisions in the Regional Divisions and all Sunday Divisions (Division 4 & Below)

2.2.1.2.2.1. Match to commence with a NEW or used Windsor Ball, a NEW Hampton Ball or a NEW St James Ball. 

2.2.1.2.2.2. In order to maintain standards any used ball Windsor Ball used to start a game must be in a good enough condition that the embossed badges must clearly show that the ball is a Windsor ball. If not, the used ball cannot be used to start the game.  

2.2.1.2.2.3. Spare Ball must be a Used Windsor Ball, Used Hampton Ball or Used St James Ball

2.2.1.2.3. Derek Kay 1st XI Cup, Championship 1st XI Cup 

2.2.1.2.3.1. Match to commence with NEW PINK Windsor Ball

2.2.1.2.3.2. Spare ball must be a used Pink Windsor Ball 

2.2.1.2.4. 1st XI League Cup and 2nd XI Cups

2.2.1.2.4.1. Match to commence with NEW Windsor Ball

2.2.1.2.4.2. Spare Ball must be a Used Windsor Ball

2.2.1.2.5. 3rd XI, 4th XI & 5th XI in cups

2.2.1.2.5.1. Match to commence with a NEW Windsor Ball, a NEW Hampton Ball or a NEW St James Ball

2.2.1.2.5.2. Spare Ball must be a Used Windsor Ball, Used Hampton Ball or Used St James Ball

2.2.1.2.6. GMCL20 

2.2.1.2.6.1. Match to commence with NEW PINK Windsor Ball or NEW Pink Magna Ball.

2.2.1.2.6.2. Spare ball must be a used Pink Windsor or Magna Ball.

2.2.1.2.7. Juniors 

2.2.1.2.7.1. Under 15 and above - any GMCL senior ball

2.2.1.2.7.2. Under 13 Colts Ball (4 ¾ oz)

2.2.1.2.7.3. Softball comps - Incrediball

2.2.2. GMCL Match Balls - Ordering and Payment (Updated Winter 24/25)

2.2.2.1. Clubs will order balls online directly from the ball supplier. This is the link with an access code 216199 which will get you to a GMCL ball ordering website. 

2.2.2.1.1 The process on the supplier website is to click on pictures of the balls required and enter the number of each required, continue to other balls then checkout. Clubs will need to add club name, delivery address, email, mobile AND pay by card at this stage to complete the order. Balls will  be dispatched to your delivery address entered and a VAT invoice issued to the email address entered.

2.2.2.1.3. Where balls have not been ordered or payments have failed then a points penalty will apply to all teams from any club still owing.

2.2.3. Change of Ball Supplier 

2.2.3.1. Rules on Balls will be updated if there is a change of the league ball supplier. 

2.2.3.1.1. After any change of GMCL ball supplier, Clubs with surplus stock from the previous ball supplier may use the balls for one season only.
