Covid 19

Over 30 Clubs have taken part in the Zoom meetings over the last few days, which have provided the opportunity to discuss how clubs are managing during these difficult times and for the League to explain how it plans to reintroduce cricket if the opportunity arises. The feedback has been excellent and will influence how things may proceed. This feedback will also be sent on to the LCF and the ECB for their consideration.

Click here for a copy of the presentation slides prepared by the ECB to explain how they are responding to Covid 19. These slides were referred to in the Zoom meetings and for those clubs who didn’t manage to take part please take a look and if you have any questions please click here and the Club Director will be happy to provide a response.

During the Zoom meetings a number of Clubs identified that they hadn’t taken up the opportunity to apply for grants and or loans, which may be the Clubs choice but if you do require any help or guidance in applying please click here

Could we please ask your assistance in helping us to collate information on which Clubs have received the business grant from their local authorities and identify those Clubs who are part of a larger Sports Club who therefore did not receive anything directly. This information is urgently required, so please reply with your response here

New Safeguarding Initiatives – Safe Hands

When cricket returns, in a post-COVID-19 time, the ECB will be launching a Safe Hands Online Registration Portal, Game-wide Insurance Policy and Club Cricket Charity and Defibrillators.

This system will provide an online registration process whereby the ECB will require all cricket clubs to register the details of the club and individuals in key roles or those with responsibilities for the management and running of club activities.

Clubs will be asked to complete basic details about their club and who are the key personnel within it, providing evidence of safeguarding checks and compliance. It will then notify users if there are any current gaps in the requirements, together with highlighting individual’s renewal dates for the key criteria such as DBS checks and Safe Hands training. Further details are to available by clicking here

Dynamos Cricket and All Stars Cricket

Following the announcement that all recreational cricket will be suspended until further notice, this unfortunately encompasses both the All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket programmes.

For the 2020 All Stars Activity Booklet please click here, which has been adapted so that all content is suitable for families whilst they are at home.

Alongside the All Stars Activity booklet the ECB are releasing the Dynamos Cricket App, and due to COVID-19, will be making it available for all our young cricketers, not just those who signed up to Dynamos Cricket. The app will be available to download on the iOS and Android stores and is jam packed with skills, quizzes and activity challenges to try at home. We encourage you to share the download links once they are available so we can all help to keep children active and engaged with cricket at this time.
