Eid-ul-Adha is one of the biggest religious festivals in Islam and this will be celebrated by Muslims next weekend meaning a number of our clubs will have a lot of players missing.
Some are celebrating on the 9th and some on the 10th because it is not an exact science in predicting the date in advance, all dependent on the sighting of the moon on the day and different mosques have notified different dates.
Thanks to wise guidance from leaders at some of our clubs the league are pleased to agree that clubs may seek rearrangement of games where they have a good number of players missing for either day. Will clubs who will be unable to put out a team who have not yet been in contact with us, please let us know by Monday evening 8pm if they cannot play a fixture next weekend, confirming the date and which fixture.
Please e-mail webadmin@GtrMcrCricket.co.uk
At present the following games will need to be rearranged at the request of the club underlined:
9th July
Blackley 1st XI v Egerton 2nd XI
Bolton Deane & Derby 1st XI v Daisy Hill 1st XI
South West Manchester 2nd XI v Bolton Deane & Derby 2nd XI
Walshaw 2nd XI v Friends United
10th July
Springhead 2nd XI v South West Manchester 2nd XI - game to be replayed on cup reserve date please July 24th
We will update the list should any more applications be made but we will also let the affected clubs know by e-mail.
In the meantime and in advance of the celebrations may we wish all those celebrating a joyous and blessed Eid-ul-Adha
