Grounds and Facilities
Meeting of Ground Staff in the GMCL
At the inception of the Greater Manchester Cricket League, and indeed contained within the Prospectus which was published prior to the formation of the League there was and remains a desire to improve standards of Grounds and Facilities in line with the vision of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for the recreational game.
The League with the help of experts in their field has produced a set of Ground and Facilities Standards linked to an Accreditation Scheme the purpose of which is to promote continuous improvement, whilst ensuring that minimum standards continue to be satisfied. Participation in the Scheme is a condition of membership of the GMCL, and levels of accreditation are built into the eligibility criteria for entry to each of the GMCL Divisions.
To help launch this new scheme and to encourage clubs to take the upkeep and presentation of the clubs biggest asset we have arranged a series of meetings to discuss the contents and operation of the scheme and to give you the opportunity of proving an input to its implementation.
Three separate meetings have been arranged each covering the same issues and your club ground staff, Chairman and or other Officials are encouraged to attend one of these meetings.
